With Niche Mixes, Spotify gives users access to tens of thousands of unique mixes based on just about anything you can think of.
The new Niche Mix feature can be accessed from the Made For You hub within the Search tab. Spotify users looking for something very specific can now search for an activity, vibe, or aesthetic that describes the moment they’re in, and add the word “mix” at the end.
I usually get 5-10 mixes that the service decides I like, but if none of them are right for me, I can specifically search for another set of personalized playlists. Each mix is updated daily, so even if you get similar results, you may actually get a different vibe each day.
Well, the good news is that Niche Mixes is available to free users worldwide. Spotify subscription. But be aware that this is an English-only feature wherever you live.
This feels more like an improvement to Spotify’s search engine than an update to the service’s algorithms.
