Clips are short vertical videos under 30 seconds that are uploaded directly to Spotify for Artists. Designed to put you and your music at the center, it can be attached to artist profiles, songs, albums, or upcoming releases.Listeners can view artist profiles, album pages, new countdown pageClips are all about driving a stream of music, not what you like. Therefore, on each of these surfaces, viewers can access the music immediately after watching the video.

Clips do not disappear within 24 hours. And you don’t have to constantly create new content to keep up with the latest trends. Clips brings video storytelling to more parts of Spotify, allowing you to tell richer stories and drive more streams. Allow your stance (and future fans) to communicate with you on the platforms they already listen to your music on. It’s the home of evergreen, always-on video that deserves not just viral loops, but deeper storytelling and longer shelf life.

How to upload clips

step 1: Access the video dashboard in Spotify for Artists by clicking the Create Clip card on desktop or mobile, or the Video tab on desktop.

Step 2: Click the “Upload Video” button to start uploading. Clips must be tall, at least 1280 pixels high, at least 1080 pixels wide, in MP4 format, and between 3 and 30 seconds long.

Step 3: Add video details. You can add a caption that describes your clip, tag one of your releases, check if your video contains inappropriate content, and choose a thumbnail image for your video.

Step 4: I have read and agree to the Clips Terms of Service.

After agreeing to the terms and submitting your clips, you will be presented with a video dashboard that will display all of your uploaded clips ordered by upload time. Click individual thumbnails to view metadata, check status, and delete clips if desired.

Clips are always featured in a dedicated section of the artist profile, but you can also tag tracks and albums (because clips are about music and artists, not just trending sounds).
