Police say three “brave” security guards stopped an armed man from entering a strip club in Florida and helped avert a possible mass shooting.

Two other security guards helped Resto restrain the suspect, identified by police as 44-year-old Michael Rudman, and kept him pinned to the ground until authorities arrived.
“All of this happened in less than a minute,” Bercaw said. “As any police officer will tell you, a one-minute battle with an armed suspect seems like an eternity.”
Upon arriving at the scene, police found two fully loaded magazines in the suspect’s pockets, as well as additional ammunition, nine knives and firearm accessories in the suspect’s pickup truck parked near the club. It is said that

“I definitely could have discussed the shooting in Tampa without the brave men standing next to me. Suspects are in custody and no lives have been lost,” Barcoe said.
Police said Tuesday they were still investigating a motive.
Rudman faces charges including aggravated assault and aggravated assault with a lethal weapon, both felonies, and a misdemeanor, battery, court records show. He also faces charges for purchasing, possessing, or receiving firearms while on a risk protection order. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office issued him a Hazard Protection Order last year, according to the Tampa Police Department.
Rudman is being held without bail in the Hillsborough County Jail. A pretrial detention hearing is scheduled for Friday, according to court records. ABC News was unable to reach the public defender for comment.
