“It Was Nuts!”: Years Before $200 Million Spotify Deal, Joe Rogan Recalls Wild Interaction About JRE With Massive Crowd That Made Him Go “Holy Sh*t”

UFC commentator Joe Rogan first realized the JRE’s popularity more than a decade ago during an entertaining exchange with a crowd. Since its launch in 2009, the JRE has been a huge sensation and has grown exponentially in the years since. Billed as the most popular podcast on the planet, his JRE offers a full range of services. But the organizers were unaware of the cultural phenomenon they had created until they decided to engage with the crowd.

The JRE remains the primary entertainment source for our loyal listeners. It skyrocketed the charts and continued to expand its listener base many times over. As a result, he chose to shell out $200 million for Spotify to gain exclusive rights to the podcast, and stand-up comics profited. Stand-up comics didn’t pay attention to the numbers at all, but there was an incident around 2012 when a crowd of 3,700 admitted to listening to his JRE.

Joe Rogan didn’t understand the popularity of the JRE

Speaking to Oil and Whiskey, the color commentator revealed that he worked on the podcast without looking at numbers or downloads. When asked when he first understood JRE’s ratings, he couldn’t pinpoint exactly when. he said, “I don’t know, dude. It was around 2012 or 2013 and it started going really crazy.”

He said, recounting an incident that happened ten years ago in Chicago. “I was talking about something that happened on a podcast and I had to explain it, so I said, “How many people are listening to the podcast?” !” I remember saying. “”

“And I remember thinking, ‘Oh shit.’ I didn’t understand. It was really funny and I remember being on stage and thinking, ‘Oh, I can’t do this. What the hell? ” he added later.

JRE is popular with viewers for its more expansive conversational tone, diverse guest list, and the trust Logan and Guest bring to long conversations. So the podcast just kept getting bigger.

Logan fears he will be defeated

The comedian then pointed out that JRE holds the number one spot in 96 countries. he said: “This is crazy, it’s been number one for years. I keep telling producer Jamie when someone is going to beat us.”

Besides, Logan said he hadn’t changed anything, he was just talking to people.
