Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe are touring Australia in November, while the veteran hard rock band will play three shows at stadiums on the east coast.
The joint headline tour kicks off at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on November 8th, before heading to Giants Stadium in Sydney on November 11th. The three-day show concludes at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on November 14th.
General tickets for the show go on sale next Thursday (June 8). There will also be various pre-sales for band fan club members, Vodafone customers and Live Nation members. See here for ticket details.
The newly announced dates in Australia are part of an extensive The World Tour that kicked off with a show in Mexico City in February. Several more dates in Latin America will follow, with European dates starting last month and North American dates planned for August.
This will be the second tour the two bands have embarked on together in years. Both bands will co-headline in 2022 stadium tour They played 36 shows across North America, including Poison and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.
Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott said: “We are thrilled to be back on tour this summer and bring this massive tour to audiences around the world, including a special date in Australia.” said.
Motley Crue also echoed Elliott’s views in a joint statement. “We had a great time on The Stadium Tour in North America and we can’t wait to continue our shows around the world with The World Tour in 2023. Dear Crewheads, what a great Australian date! We’ve prepared some, so get ready!”
Upcoming dates will mark Motley Crue’s first trip to Australia in eight years. The band last played in the country in 2015 as part of what was then described as their “final” tour. The November show will also be Motley Crue’s first tour of Australia since founding guitarist Mick Mars left the group last year due to ongoing health problems. John 5 took his place.
Meanwhile, Def Leppard last toured Australia in 2018, playing the full length of their groundbreaking 1987 album Hysteria to mark its 30th anniversary.
