This record filthy. The Very Dirty Bay Area Hardcore Punk Band Spy Started Amid The Pandemic And Made A Name For Their EP Strength — The 2020s service weaponin 2021 recidivist, the breakup with Maniac in 2022, and a reportedly insane live show. Before releasing the album, Spies were already performing in front of large crowds and spreading the gospel of ugly, unreformed basement punk. Well, the spies have an album, so god only knows how they go from here.
Spy released their debut LP today satisfaction. The new album really puts the definition of the word “album” to the test, as ten of his short, fast, mean songs are crammed into a 13-minute runtime. But who really wants a longer Spy record than that? Listening to Spy feels like diving into a pool full of rusty razors. A light soak is refreshing, but he doesn’t want to spend all day there. Just feel bad and then go on with your day. The lead single, “Big Man,” has already been posted, but you can now stream the full track below.
satisfaction is out on Triple B Records.
