Golden Messenger of Hiss Announced jumping up and down with joyfollow-up in 2021 blow quietly and holiday album O faithful one, come. jumping up and down with joy Merge (pre-order) is due out August 25, and frontman MC Taylor has explained that he wrote most of it in 2022 through the perspective of the semi-autobiographical character he created.
Creating this character became a way of exploring these vulnerable and tender moments that were so decisive in my life, even if I didn’t realize it at the time… I was able to go inside these places that existed my sensory memory: 16 year old me. I knew intuitively that there must be something there for me. Something mystical and sacred that isn’t messed up and confusing and full of pain. At 18, I was wandering the vast expanses of Texas under a fat orange moon with a hardcore band, scavenging for pennies to fill up my gas tank and trying to soundcheck for a show that never happened. At 30 and having kids and writing songs as if they were epitaphs on tombstones, I still realize that nothing is more permanent and serious, and that I need to be more gentle with my psyche. I don’t understand. At 35, I’m still chasing the thing, even though I’ve touched it once or twice and know it’s the only way I feel complete, real, and useful. I see everyone giving up in the rearview mirror I’m looking for something easier and less heartbreaking.
The first time I glimpsed jumping up and down with joy The satirical soda ad “Nu-Grape” is a groovy, gospel-infused rock track accompanied by an equally absurd music video starring MC Taylor, Johnny Fritz and Andy Flask. Please see below for “Nu-Grape”.
Hiss Golden Messenger also announced an extensive tour date through the end of the year, with the support of: William Tyler & Impossible Truth, Sylvie, Adeem the Artist, and Rostines on various dates. See below for all dates.
