A new preview of the band’s upcoming new album ‘Eye on the Bat’

Palehound released the second single from their next album, “My Evil”. bat eye. Tour dates for fall 2023 have also been announced. Check out the full list of dates and stream the new song below.
Built around a softly strummed acoustic progression, “My Evil” puts vocalist Elle Kempner’s raw, lyrical introspection at center stage, as they reflect on their thoughts about themselves and their reality. Observe contradictions between actions.
“‘My Evil’ is about the very humbling experience of realizing, yes, I’m an asshole,” Kempner explained in a statement. “I realized I was ashamed of myself and realized how I could hurt people even though I was trying so hard not to hurt them. When you try so hard to be “a person,” you can actually swing so recklessly that you come full circle and back to being a bastard. Forgive yourself is very difficult and this song is a depiction of that struggle for me. “
The single is combined with music videos inspired by popular HBO hits. The Sopranos, which features Kempner recreating the show’s intro credits. They drive across New Jersey with cigars and sometimes arrive at Tony’s house in robes and slippers to pick up the newspaper.
“The Sopranos It’s been a constant loop in my life for the last few years,” Kempner said. “This whole [music video] It was very DIY, just me, [director Richard Orofino], and with his camcorder, had the best time of his life and embarrassed himself as a superfan. It’s not exactly the same as the original, let’s just brag a little bit, but I’m really surprised we got this close. “
Palehound also announced tour dates for this fall, including a number of dates with Empath and Alexaron. The tour kicks off in Syracuse, New York in October and will tour across North America until it concludes in Columbus, Ohio at the end of November. bat eye will be released by Polyvinyl on July 14th, and pre-orders are underway. “My Evil” follows Palehound’s previous single “The Clutch”.
