“I’m really excited,” Cusack told The Sentinel-Standard. “It’s been a long time and a lot of hard work to get here. I was a little nervous, but I think we’re finally at the point where we can celebrate. I’m really excited to be getting there. Rehearsals are going well.”
Cusack released the title track of “Quiet My Mind” in March and the song “California Spring” in April. Cusack said the five-track EP will touch on a variety of genres, beginning with “sparkling cinematic pop” and ending with “Americana acoustic.”
“I’m very interested in hearing what people think of different genres and hearing me play all the different instruments, not just piano and singing,” she said.

Cusack’s music was inspired by a life-altering brain injury and the death of his parents. Cusack hit his head on his birthday in May 2018. A year later, on his birthday again, his mother Mary died of cancer. Her father Dan passed away in June 2016 from a rare neurodegenerative disease.
Cusack said he’s proud of what he’s accomplished in his music career over the last few years and is ready to celebrate all the joys and losses that led to his debut album.
“I’m so grateful to have found trustworthy collaborators and a management team that have helped me get this far,” says Cusack.
Cusack recruited various musicians and collaborators for the concert. The musicians playing are:
“It took me a long time to learn how to perform live again with a brain injury,” said Cusack. “Knowing how much instrumentation you can handle while playing live has been an important journey for me and trying to figure it out.”
