A 30-year-old man was killed Saturday night after being hit by an SUV in Hartford, and police are looking for the driver who fled the scene.
Officers arrived in the Farmington Avenue neighborhood of Gillette Street just before 11pm and found a man on the sidewalk just off the road after receiving reports of a pedestrian being hit.
Police said he was unresponsive and suffered serious injuries. Officers began treating him and EMS took him to St. Francis Hospital, where he died.
The man’s name has not been released as police have notified his family.
A white SUV, believed to be a Chevrolet Trailblazer, crashed into the man, police said. The vehicle the police are looking for has a roof rack and a sunroof.
It was last seen heading west on Farmington Avenue from Sison Avenue.
