Pearl Jam have announced a short tour for late summer/early fall 2023, with nine arena shows in five cities in August and September. Perhaps unsurprisingly for a group that has long been known to be meticulous in their ticket handling, the explanation for how the band handles ticket sales is based on actual tour dates. (See the full list of shows below.)
The band adopted “all-in” ticket pricing for the first time. So almost everywhere the extra charges attached to the ticket are shown as part of the base ticket price instead of being shown as a surprise at checkout. Pearl has toured with his Nation live, which has advocated for his model all-in jams.
Ticketmaster applauded Pearl Jam for using an all-in pricing model, saying in a statement: variety: “Pearl Jam has always advocated on behalf of its fans and hopes more artists, teams and venues will follow their lead and start using the all-in pricing available on Ticketmaster. It would be nice for fans if inn pricing was mandated nationally, but in the meantime we’ve created an all-in display option so fans can see the full cost up front.”
In announcing tour dates, Pearl Jam also took its stand on other controversial ticket sales practices. After some of Bruce Springsteen’s 2023 tickets hit an astronomical face value, the use of “platinum,” or dynamically priced tickets, came to the forefront, and Taylor said his Swift self refused to use platinum prices on its tours. Pearl his jam uses the platinum system (referred to here as “PJ Premium” seats), but the announcement states that only his 10% of tickets are part of that program, and those tickets remain Emphasizes that it helps subsidize the low price of 90% of
Tickets are also non-transferable, except in Illinois, to avoid scalping. According to the band, most of the tickets will eventually go on sale in advance to members of his Ten Club fan club.
The tour begins in St. Paul on August 31st and ends in Austin on September 19th, via Chicago, Indianapolis and Fort Worth.
Pre-sale will start today exclusively for Ten Club members. Subsequent sales to those who have signed up for Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan Program will begin on April 28th. Pre-registration for Verified Fans opens today.
“Pearl Jam will provide the majority of tickets to members of the Ten Club, make tickets non-transferable where permitted, and by selling PJ Premium tickets, provide access to fair priced tickets. We continue to strive to protect fan access.”PJ Premium Seats are located in various locations and represent approximately 10% of our ticket inventory per performance. It’s priced at market rates to offset increased tour costs while keeping it low.PJ Premium tickets, along with regular priced tickets, are available through Verified Fan.”
Tickets for this tour remain non-transferable in all states except Illinois where prohibited by law. We apologize in advance to fans in Illinois for the possible increase in ticket prices in the secondary market. ‘ and ‘Pearl Jam will be using all-in pricing for the first time on this tour. It never surprises me.”
