GRAMMY® AWARD WINNING ROC NATION ARTISTS VICTORIE RELEASE NEW SINGLE FROM UPCOMING SECOND ALBUM, “Just Like In Heaven”
NEW YORK, NY (April 7, 2023) — Grammy Awards Today victory drop her new single, “Like Heaven” From the 2nd album scheduled to be released this spring. The track showcases Victory’s distinctive and soulful vocals, fully demonstrating her talent for fusing gospel, blues, folk, pop and soul musical styles. ‘Just Like in Heaven’ follows her breakout song ‘El Shaddai’ which has garnered her over 1.2 million views on Facebook.
Victory said: “Just Like in Heaven” is a Kanye-inspired beat with a prayer inspired by the words of Jesus. I wrote this song with the goal of making prayer more accessible and culturally appealing to the youth of our generation. “
Victory’s first two collections on Roc Nation include her EP ‘It’s a New Dawn’ (2017) and her critically acclaimed debut album ‘The Broken Instrument’ (2018).
Raised in a family deeply devoted to music and live performance, Victory is one of nine brothers who sang in the Detroit Boys and Girls Choir founded by his father, John Boyd. From the beginning she took her music seriously as a career and at the age of 4 she started singing in a choir and later learned jazz guitar. When she was 12, her family moved to North Herbert, New Jersey, and performed together at NYC’s tourist attractions and subway platforms using various names, including Piece Her Industry Music Her Group. I started street performance. Her Boyd became particularly famous for her fantastic acoustics when she performed at her favorite spot, Minton Her Tile Her Arcade next to Bethesda Her Fountain.
Victory and her four siblings (older brother Abraham and younger brothers Angel, Israel and Momo) later formed the offshoot group Infinity’s Song, with Tori Kelly performing UNITED’s “Ocean’s” at Central in 2015. It became nationally famous after being spotted by chance. Park—and participated. A video of the impromptu performance went viral (1.2 million views on YouTube). Also in 2015, Peace Industry Music Group released her self-titled debut album of Infinity’s Song. Victory was then personally signed by Jay-Z to Roc Nation to release It’s A New Dawn. This EP featured her beautiful renditions by two of her songs that influenced her most, Nina Simone (“Feeling Good”) and Stevie Her Wonder (“Overjoyed”). In 2020, Infinity’s Song released her label debut, Mad Love. After contributing Christ-centered lyrics to Kanye West’s songs “Closed On Sunday” and “God Is” as her primary lyricist, Victory announced in 2019 that her work on the album “Jesus Is King” won its first Grammy Award.
