(CNN) Two tigers have been recaptured after fleeing a safari park in Georgia when a tornado warning was issued on Sunday morning, according to the park.
A Facebook post said that Pine Mountain’s Wild Animal Safari Park was “extremely damaged by the tornado.”
No staff or animals were injured, but “several animal enclosures” were breached. “Two tigers temporarily escaped,” Park said.
The two big cats have since been “discovered, tranquilized and safely returned to their safe enclosures”.
Wild Animal Safari, a drive-thru park, has more than 75 species of animals on 250 acres, according to its website. According to the website, the tigers are included in the “walkabout” section of the park, where guests can observe the animals in a more zoo-like environment.
The Troup County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post Sunday morning that it had received a report of a “missing” tiger in a park in Pine Mountain, Georgia.
The park announced on Facebook that it will be closed on Sunday. “The park has been damaged and will not be open today,” the post read. “We are working diligently to keep our teams and animals safe and will update you as news becomes available.”
The storm came after a tornado warning was issued for parts of Georgia, including southeastern Troup County.
Troop County officials have received reports of trees and power lines being down after severe weather hit the area, the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post Sunday morning.
“There have been multiple reports of fallen trees, damaged homes and broken power lines,” the official wrote. “If you don’t have to hit the road this morning, don’t move.”
The county is located approximately 70 miles southwest of Atlanta.
CNN’s Keith Allen contributed to this report.
