Jeremy Renner opens up about a life-threatening accident involving a snowplow in his first interview since his incident with ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer.
In the first look at Jeremy Renner: An Interview with Diane Sawyer — A Tale of Horror, Survival, and Victory, which airs Thursday, April 6 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC, star of The Avengers recalls the January accident involving him. A 7-ton snowcat.

Renner, who said he suffered more than 30 fractures along with blunt force trauma to his chest as a result of the accident, said he wrote a farewell letter to his family while he was in critical condition at the hospital.

In a trailer released last week ahead of the upcoming special, Renner said he remembers the pain of the accident.
“I was always awake,” he told Sawyer, but said, “I’ll do it again.”
“Yes, I would do it again because it was right for my nephew,” he said.
The exclusive also includes harrowing memories of the accident from Renner’s family, including the nephew he was trying to protect, and a behind-the-scenes snapshot into his ongoing recovery.

He also told Sawyer that he “chosen to survive” after the accident, refusing it to kill him.
